Dragging ESW to a fit and healthy future!

May

Having lost my most enthusiastic fitness fan to the dark side (aka SLC) it has been left to me to motivate the slackers in ESW!

Jo, Julia and myself have declared our goals for the CTGF, the remainder of the team remain tight lipped. Sealed

Jo T - to improve her fitness and live a long and healthy life.

Julia - to run for 40 mins 3 times a week and reduce the alcohol

Brigitte - to reduce my sugar intake and less processed rubbish!

As always we have started slow but surely with Jo T embracing the whole CTGF concept.  Having enjoyed the Boundary Walk she is now doing her best to encourage her ITE colleagues out for a lunch time stroll. There is also a really scrummy recipe on Sussex Foods FB page.

Whilst I have made a great effort to cook 'proper' food I have failed miserably on the sugar intake with the chocolate digestives proving toooooooo tempting! But I did run 24 miles on Sunday so I felt justly rewarded..oh and for the bottle of wine that followed! Embarassed

Stay tuned for the next active update for ESW when we hope to have motivated the remaining team members from their slumber. Kiss

Brigitte! If you're just casually running 24 miles of a Sunday then I don't think you need my enthusiasm anymore.

I am less enthusiastic now i've gone to the 'dark side'- have done little more than a few walks but will change that up soon.

Gooooooooooooooooooooooood luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brigitte, hope the training is going well. This blogging means we can keep an eye on you even more. Try swapping the biscuits for an alternative - some dark 70% cocoa chocolate could do the trick

Yes, I have 70% cocoa chocolate which I washed down last night with half a dozen fruit pastilles...well they have the word fruit in the title!

well I am delighted to check I. For our lunch time walking club. The no pressure approach of if we are available we will walk seems to be working. After a lonely walk the first day, I was joined by Joan Williams for the next walk. Delighted to say that Valerie and Yugin joined is as well today.... We even tried to press gang a couple on the way... Since our return we have now had the promise of our head of school joining us and several others. We watched the great TED video that suggested walking meetings and we are totally up for it... The walks are giving us fresh air, exercise and a chance to get put from behind our deaka and talk to people. I suspect this will go way beyond May !!

Bit late, but here were/are my goals!

Go for lunchtime walks to make sure I get out of the office at least once a day

Implement (both at work and at home) the exercises I learnt from Leah Sheldrick's wonderful Back Care session at Fulton on the Commit to Get Fit programme.

Eat more fruits for lunch and drink more water during each work day.
