Your profile is the page you wish to show to others. As well as adding various widgets from external and internal websites you can embed a phoptgraph of yourself and show your interest tags and the courses you are on.
Fig 1 shows a basic profile setup.
Within SPLASH you can give yourself a nickname - this will be be shown in searches and your blog entries. To do so navigate to Settings and then Profile and add an entry in the ‘Your preferred nickname’ field, see Fig 2 below
To add a photograph, you need to have a photograph of yourself on a website such as Flickr and know the url of the image location. Once you know this navigate to Settings and then Profile and add the full url in the ‘Your profile picture’ field, see Fig 2 above.
In Internet Explorer,
If you update your Facebook profile picture you will have to go through the steps again if you want the new picture on your SPLASH profile.
You can add tags to your profile. These will be public and used within the search facilty of SPLASH. You can use single or double tags separated by commas i.e. photography, graphic design. To do so, navigate to Settings and then Profile and add your tags in the ‘Tags’ field, see Fig 2 above
The courses you’re on will automatically show on your profile page. If you wish to change this you can do so in your privacy settings, navigate to Settings and then Privacy and select ‘Hide yourself from any course list’.
Step 1. Navigate to Profile and then Add a widget.
Step 2. Select a widget from the drop down list and choose from the settings (if any shown). You can change the settings again once the widget is added. You can then set the permissions setting on who can see the widget by selecting from the ‘Available to list’. You can change this setting at a later date if needed.
Step 3. Drag the widget into position by clicking on the widget title and holding the mouse key down (left hand mouse key on a PC).
Once added to your dashboard you can change the individual widget settings by selecting the spanner icon located in the widget header and choosing the settings of your choice. Each widget will have a different setting configuation, instructions for each will be given within the widget.
Once added to your dashboard you can change the individual widget permission settings by selecting the lock icon located in the widget header. and choosing the settings of your choice.
To delete a widget from your dashboard select the red delete icon located in the widget header, see Fig 5 above. The widget can be added again if desired.
